Special occasions are held every month of the year, but they really seem to be plentiful during the holiday season.  Families and friends want to gather to celebrate, while businesses are trying to find ways to show their appreciation to their employees.  No matter what occasion a person wants to celebrate, the Rainwater Conference Center is the perfect place to hold it.

Here are three special occasions that are perfect for the Rainwater Conference Center during the holiday season:

  1. Weddings

Many brides dream of a holiday wedding, where a winter wonderland surrounds them, and this is possible at the Rainwater Conference Center.  Brides and grooms should envision glittering lights amongst all the shimmering white if they are dreaming of that type of wedding, but that would not be their only choice.  They can also choose glimmering silvers and golds, or they can go more traditional with reds or greens.  The possibilities are endless as are the options for food and drinks.  Each wedding at the Rainwater is unique and the staff ensures that every couple can create the wedding of their dreams.

  1. Company Holiday Parties

Companies are always looking for places to hold their holiday office parties and the Rainwater Conference Center is the perfect spot.  These gatherings can be for small or large crowds and they can be customized to the needs of the business.  These parties can be held in the afternoon as a casual affair or they can be slightly more elegant during the evening hours.  When it comes to the food, it can be simply hors d’oeuvres or it can be more complete with a buffet or sit-down dinner.

  1. Family Gatherings

Families love getting together around the holidays to spend time together and have fun.  Sometimes, this is the only time that people can see each other, so no one really wants to spend all their time taking care of their guests.  That is why these family gatherings should be held at the Rainwater Conference Center.  Families can reserve a space that will fit their needs and then let the staff know exactly what they want.  The staff will take care of all the details and every family member can spend their time talking, laughing, and catching up on the events of the year.  That is much better than getting a space ready for a party, preparing the food, and cleaning up afterwards!

There are so many other possibilities for uses at the Rainwater Conference Center.  If anyone has an idea of an event that they want to hold during the holidays or any other time of the year, they will want to call the Rainwater Conference Center to see how amazing their event can be if they held it there.

The Rainwater Conference Center is more than a building in Valdosta.  It is a community center where locals and people from out of town can go to receive information about the area, plus a place where everyone can hold conferences, special events, and even weddings.

We have a friendly staff and they will always go the extra mile to ensure that the people they are helping have more than they ever anticipated for their time in the area and their event.

Here are some things that people are saying about the Rainwater Conference Center:

The Staff Went Above and Beyond

During 2015, the United States Attorney Middle District of Georgia, held a training seminar for Safety in their Schools.  There were over three hundred attendees there, including law enforcement, first responders, and educators.  According to Attorney Michael J. Moore, the staff at the Rainwater Conference Center went above and beyond while setting things up prior to the training, and that did not end as the training was taking place.  The staff continued to work hard to ensure that everything was being handled properly and that everyone’s needs were being met.

Things Were Handled Well from Beginning to End

The group, Save Our Children, Inc., held their very first African-American banquet at the Rainwater Conference Center.  They were quite pleased that their every want and need was taken care of from the minute they inquired about the space to well past its finish time.

Enjoyed the Experience So Much that the Person Now Works There!

A couple of years ago, a guest walked into the Rainwater Conference Center for the first time for a Christmas wedding.  She was amazed at how beautiful and elegant everything was.  Of course, once she tasted the food, she was hooked!  She also loved how attentive each staff member was and how they worked hard to make sure that everything was being done on time and properly.  After her evening enjoying the wedding, she knew that she wanted to be a part of the amazing team at the Rainwater, so she applied and is now working as a server for the fantastic chefs that create each delicious dish.

There are many other reviews that are just as magnificent for the Rainwater Conference Center.  Anyone who has never been there or experienced one of their events will want to go visit and plan their own special occasion where they can be treated like royalty and have the time of their life.

Meetings at the Rainwater Conference Center can be a lot of fun, but once you are done for the day, you are not going to want to go back to your hotel room and stay there until your next meeting in the morning and neither will any of your attendees. Thankfully, there is plenty to do while you are in Valdosta, so you will never be bored.

Here are 4 things to do while you are hosting your meeting at Rainwater Conference Center:

1. Visit Freedom Park

You may want to get outside and explore after a day of indoor meetings and Freedom Park is your best option. You can go alone or invite some of the other attendees to go along with you. There are baseball fields, soccer fields, a disc golf course, and walking trails to keep everyone in shape after a long day. If no one is interested in playing a game, there is a chance that you all can watch one of the numerous tournaments that are held there throughout the year.

2. Visit the Lowndes County Historical Society and Museum

Since you are in the area, you might as well learn as much about the city and county as you can. The historical society and museum is a great place to start, because it is filled with multiple exhibits and displays that document the history of the area. Included in these displays are photographs, documents, military items, and clothing from years past.

3. Turner Center for the Arts

There are six galleries in the Turner Center for the Arts and they are filled with regional and international pieces of art. Thirty exhibits are displayed each year and some of those rotate, so that there is always something new to see when you visit. The permanent exhibits include East African art pieces as well as European porcelain.

4. The Crescent

You can step back in time when you visit the Crescent, which was built in 1898 by Senator William S. West. This twenty-three room mansion has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980. The mansion is surrounded by magnificent gardens, which is why multiple garden clubs meet there and why numerous weddings and other special events take place on the grounds.

Valdosta is a wonderful city that is filled with history, nature, and people who are willing to share their experiences from living there. Even if you are spending most of your time in meetings during the day, there is still plenty of time for you to get out and explore the sights that this area has to offer.
